Very little is known on the beginnings of this German bowmaker, who worked in Paris with Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume, probably between 1860 and 1866, before going back to Germany to open his workshop in Markneukirchen. He made beautiful bows in the French style and also ran a restaurant that his son took over after his death.
